Music Intuition is an exciting new and co-operative service for musicians in the southern counties of the UK.

We recognise that, where education of any kind is concerned, one size does not fit all; whilst our business aims are to bring together teachers and students of music, we feel our ethical obligation is to do this in a completely pupil-centred way. We work with a number of local teachers in order to offer a broad range of teaching styles and specialities. Potential hassles like timetabling, billing and examination arrangements are run from one central location so the whole family can enjoy music lessons to suit them combined with the ease of service access we have come to expect from modern providers.

Young or old, our pupils enjoy being part of the Music Intuition network.

Musicians frequently feel isolated and have no means of comparing their progress, so all our students can benefit from termly social events and concerts. The establishment of a sympathetic peer group and the forging of musical friendships is vital to maintaining enthusiasm and building a sense of achievement.

General musicianship and the development of skills in aural, sight-reading and theory are crucial. Our experience has taught us that group settings can greatly enhance the learning process and, as well as our busy schedule of individual lessons, we have frequent enjoyable group sessions concentrating on these important skills, leaving more time in instrumental lessons to focus on sound technique and playing skills.

We run a children’s choir and have links to several other choirs in the area that cater for teenagers and adult learners. We encourage students to perform in front of each other too and provide suitable opportunities from informal peer evenings to concerts.

We provide highly trained accompanists for examinations and concerts. Other benefits such as downloadable practice accompaniments, aural exercises and so on are made available to pupils.
